Q: Why did you decide to join the mission of Make-A-Wish?
A: I decided to work for Make-A-Wish because it’s an organization I’ve volunteered with for over nine years and an organization whose mission I’m truly passionate about. I was also at a point in my life and career where I was ready for a change, but not just any change. I wanted to do something that was fulfilling and really made a difference and impact in the lives of others. Something I could be extremely proud of.
Q: What is the most rewarding experience you've had with Make-A-Wish?
A: The most rewarding experience I’ve had with Make-A-Wish has been working with the incredible Wish Kids and their families over the years. Being able to see firsthand the impact a wish has is humbling and rewarding. For that period of time, a Wish Kid can be a kid and not be defined by the disease or illness he or she has. To see the excitement and hope a wish gives them is priceless.
Q: What has been your favorite part in working with Make-A-Wish?
A: My favorite part of working for Make-A-Wish is being able to take my passion for the organization to the next level. I get to work with our incredible Wish Granters, who are really the heart of this organization. I also have the privilege of working with more Wish Kids and families than I did as a Wish Granter. Speaking with Wish Parents and learning more about these Wish Kids is affirmation to me that I’m where I belong.
