ST. LOUIS, MO (December, 5, 2017) - Join us on Friday, Dec. 9th at Macy’s in West County Center to experience the magic of Ashford’s one true wish, as he receives the shopping spree of his dreams.
On Friday, December 9th, Macy’s and Make-A-Wish® Missouri will join forces to grant the wish of an eighteen-year-old boy named Ashford, who is battling a brain tumor. Ashford’s one true wish to have a shopping spree will be granted in celebration of Macy’s National Believe Day.
In addition, Macy’s and Make-A-Wish will grant more than 25 wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions across the country that day, as part of “Wishes Across America”.
“Wishes Across America” was created as part of the Macy’s Believe campaign to inspire others to embrace the spirit of goodwill and make a difference in their own community, creating even more reasons to believe.
When Make-A-Wish Missouri approached Ashford about fulfilling his most heartfelt wish, Ashford stated that he wished to have a shopping spree to purchase a new winter wardrobe. Ashford has lost a significant amount of weight this past year, due to the chemotherapy treatments, and he no longer fits into his old winter clothing.
He has endured much through his battle with this life-threatening medical condition, but his strong will, unbreakable spirit, and anticipation of his wish have given him hope, strength and joy through all the adversity.
Ashford’s special wish celebration will begin with a red carpet entrance, surrounded by a sea of supporters, at Macy’s West Country Center. He then will receive some special surprises including a security detail, special guest appearances, and personal shoppers to guarantee he receives everything on his wish list.

WHY: Join us behind the scenes of an actual wish! Since 2008, Macy’s Believe campaign has brought together communities across the country, gathering support for the common cause and resulting in nearly $13 million donated to Make-A-Wish.
This season also marks a major milestone, as Macy’s celebrates $100 million in total giving to Make-A-Wish since 2003. That represents nearly three wishes granted every day for the past 13 years, and more than 2.4 million people impacted in total by wishes that Macy’s has helped grant, including wish kids and their families, volunteers, community groups, nurses, doctors and more.
