Kansas City, MO – March 30, 2016 – Kansas City area walkers and runners are invited to come dressed as their favorite superhero for the annual Make-A-Wish® Missouri Walk and Run event on Saturday, April 9 at Sporting Park. This is one of the largest Walk For Wishes events in the country and the largest Make-A-Wish Missouri fundraising event in Kansas City. All proceeds go toward funding the wishes of local children battling life-threatening medical conditions.
“Walk For Wishes celebrates the thousands of wishes that have already been granted while raising funds for future wishes,” said LuAnn Bott, President and CEO of Make-A-Wish® of Missouri. “Based on the support that has already poured in, we anticipate another record-breaking turnout this year to help reach our goal of 90 wishes come true for Kansas City children.”
The community is invited to sign up as individuals, create teams or join teams formed by Wish Families and other Make-A-Wish supporters. Registration opens at 8:00 a.m. with a 5k timed run and walk beginning at 9:00am. There is no charge to register for the walk and a $25 fee for the 5k run.
