St. Louis, MO (March 26, 2015) – On Sunday, March 29, millions of WWE® fans around the world will watch their favorite WWE Superstars and Divas during WrestleMania® 31 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. In the midst of the excitement, Chase, 5, and his family from St. Louis will get to experience the annual event firsthand. Make-A-Wish® Missouri, through the help of WWE, has planned a weekend packed with activities guaranteed to amaze the young fan.
The excitement begins Thursday, March 26, when Chase and his family will travel to Santa Clara in Silicon Valley. In addition to attending Sunday’s event, Chase will have opportunities to meet WWE Superstars and Divas, including a private autograph session and tickets to the biggest fan event of the year, WrestleMania Axxess.
Chase and his family will also have free time to explore Silicon Valley and attend a pizza party for wish kids at the Tech Museum of Innovation.
Chase will join 24 other wish kids from around the country whose one true wish is to go to WrestleMania. With 25 wish kids attending this year, WrestleMania is one of the largest single wish-granting endeavors, though support from WWE occurs year-round: WWE regularly helps grant wishes by donating tickets to WWE events nationwide and coordinating meet and greets with WWE talent.
“Our wish kids enjoy watching WWE because the confidence and bravery of the WWE Superstars and Divas is something that inspires them as they face a life-threatening medical condition,” said LuAnn Bott, CEO of Make-A-Wish Missouri. “WWE consistently grants high quality wishes, and I am confident Chase will return from WrestleMania 31 with a renewed sense of strength and resilience.”
WWE has been involved in wish granting since the early 1980s, beginning shortly after the founding of Make-A-Wish. The popularity of WWE has endured throughout the years with a total wish count numbering in the thousands. Since 2001, more than 45 Superstars and Divas have individually been requested, and subsequently, granted a wish.
