ST. LOUIS- (June 4, 2014) - Ten-year-old Eli, who is battling a malignant brain tumor, loves everything about soccer. He also likes to draw. When volunteer wish granters asked Eli what his one true wish is, he responded immediately, “to design my own shoe because it’s really cool and not something that I get to do every day.” On Friday, June 6, Eli’s wish will be granted thanks to Brown Shoe Company and Dr. Scholl’s.
“Wishes give hope, strength and joy to children when they need it the most,” said LuAnn Bott, President and CEO of Make-A-Wish Missouri. “Eli’s wish to design his own shoe is a priceless experience and one to remember for a lifetime. We rely on our generous community partners to grant wishes and are thankful to work with Brown Shoe Company and Dr. Scholl’s for Eli’s wish."
Eli’s day will kick off with a tour of the Brown Shoe Company facility. He will then meet with the Dr. Scholl’s design team to create his own custom shoe.
“We are so honored to help Eli’s wish come true,” said James Sowins, creative director of Dr. Scholl’s. “We can’t wait to help bring his creative vision to life. His wish is so inspiring to our entire team and it is going to be a fun day for everyone.”
Media are invited to attend as Eli meets with the Brown Shoe Company design team from 10:30AM – Noon on Friday, June 6.
