It all started back in 1983 with the granting of the first Missouri wish - a wish to have a puppy. Young J.D. Maples from Springfield, MO wished for a companion to help him keep his mind off of his daily struggles with his cancer diagnosis. His wish to have a white poodle puppy sparked a statewide movement that has led to the granting of over 6,500 unique wishes - wishes that have transformed lives, while bringing communities together.
